“Apple must comply with applicable laws,” Apple said in a statement on its support website. “In accordance with the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, apps created by ByteDance Ltd. and its affiliates – including TikTok, CapCut, Lemon8, and others – will no longer be available for download or modification on the App Store for users in the United States as of January 19, 2025.
