Boom microphone or not?
When a headphone has a boom microphone, it is what we describe as a “headphone”. While most consumer headphones work well for phone calls, having a longer microphone that sits closer to your mouth can improve the quality of your voice, making it sound better. When retracted, some boom microphones block the head voice from being heard. Some boom mics now have mute buttons on them. This is a useful feature for video calls where you want to keep the conversation quiet and turn it off yourself. The downside to having a boom mic is that it makes you look like you’re wearing headphones instead of headphones. This is another thing if you want to wear anything you buy outside of your home or office.
Fit aka comfort
It is important that the headphones or earphones you buy fit your head well. They should give you a good fit that is smooth but not too tight. Ideally, you want a pair of headphones that you can wear all day and take a break from.
Lasting
You want headphones that will last a long time, so look for models that we consider to have a solid design.
Return policy
It is very important to buy your headphones from a seller that has a good return policy, in case you have buyer’s remorse. Some people who have trouble deciding between two brands sometimes buy both, try them for a few days, and return one.
