Keyshawn Davis is producing drama with Shakur Stevenson facing off

Keyshawn Davis took to Instagram today to post a picture of himself in a fight with his best friend Shakur Stevenson, asking fans if it’s a fight they want to see. WBC lightweight champion Shakur already said this week that he would “never” fight Keyshawn for no money.

In the bout, Keyshawn looked like a HUGE welterweight standing next to the lightweight, normal-sized Stevenson. I don’t know how Davis can weigh 135, how big he is, but I understand why he chooses to fight in this weight class. It’s easy to pick, given his sheer size at light heavyweight.

Keyshawn (12-0, 8 KO) is just using fake hype to get people talking about him. He will fight next month against WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk on February 14 at the Hula Theater in Madison Square Garden in New York. The event will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Davis’ fight against Berinchyk is not talked about at all because the fans are not interested in it. Keyshawn chose the weakest link in the world title fight instead of showing courage and going after other champions.

A fight that won’t happen

It’s a shame that Keyshawn and Shakur won’t be fighting because that means there will be an undisputed lightweight champion as the two share the same division and refuse to mix it up. That’s assuming Keyshawn can win the WBO title against Berinchyk because if he loses that fight against the weakest link, he’ll never win a world title at 135. Keyshawn already looks huge for a lightweight, a true welterweight.

I can understand the rush on his part, exhausting himself to fight smaller guys at 135 instead of fighting where he should be at 147 against Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis. Keyshawn wouldn’t stand a chance against Boots, and probably wouldn’t stand a chance against any other light heavyweight belt holder. He is like a fish that can only exist in certain waters. Take a fish out of its habitat and it cannot exist. That’s Keyshawn to a T.

Challenge Berinchyk

“I didn’t get love on Valentine’s Day. I’m going out there and I’m going to knock myself out. Berinchyk, you’re a hell of a fighter,” Keyshawn Davis said on his YouTube channel, talking about his fight next month on February 14 on ESPN+ against WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk.

“I’ll knock him out. You know what I do. It will be a great victory. ‘Businessman’. I applaud Berinchyk for giving me a chance, don’t you? He gave me a chance, the face of big checks. We will all leave happy. On February 14th, it will be shown at MSG in the Hula Theatre,” Davis said.
