Georgia state senator and hardliner President-elect Trump appeared to have been pushed to the ground before being arrested as he tried to enter the state House chamber on Thursday.
State Sen. Colton Moore, who previously sought to have Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis impeached for impeaching Trump, tried to enter the House floor to attend the State of the State address from Gov. Brian Kemp, but was eventually handcuffed.
Moore is currently banned from the chamber after he criticized the state Senate’s decision last year to consider a resolution naming a building at the University of North Georgia after former speaker David Ralston, now deceased.

GEORGIA LAW SAYS DEBUTTOR WARNED OF SECRET MIGRANT ROOM AT AIRPORT
“This body is about to memorialize, in my opinion, one of the most corrupt Georgia leaders I will ever see in my lifetime,” Moore exclaimed at the time.
On Wednesday, Moore wrote to current House Speaker Jon Burns explaining why he thought the ban was unconstitutional and said he intended to be in today’s joint session.
“I’m never going back,” Moore wrote to X, sharing the letter she wrote to Burns. “I will ALWAYS tell the truth and represent the people of Northwest Georgia as their trusted America’s First Senator.”
But when he tried to enter the chamber on Thursday, he was met with a wall of resistance and appeared to be pushed back by the doorman.

Moore told attending state troopers that he had a constitutional right to enter and that a bouncer should be arrested for breaking the law.
“This is a joint session of the General Assembly. The rules of your House do not apply,” Moore told the men. “I entered the chamber.”
Unable to get in, Moore asked a state trooper if he was barred from entering. The policeman appeared to say that the doormen were responsible for who entered.
A fight ensued, with video showing Moore appearing to be pushed to the ground by one of the bouncers. He was then surrounded by state troopers and later arrested.

Fox News Digital reached out to Georgia State Police, Gov. Brian Kemp’s office and a state spokesman about the fight, but did not receive a response in time for publication.
Moore said the state was “ruled by authoritarians” on his way out and that the ban was censorship of his voice as an elected official.
Georgia Republican Speaker Josh McKoon said he was “deeply disappointed” to be denied entry to the chamber and “surprised” he was arrested.
“Not only was it legally appropriate to admit him to today’s proceedings, it was simply the right thing to do,” McKoon wrote in a statement. FOX 5 Atlanta. “Our focus should be on the excellent agenda that Governor Kemp is presenting today to continue to make Georgia the best place in the country to live, work and raise a family, not internal strife.”
In 2023, the Republican caucus of the Georgia Senate suspended Moore for attacking them for opposing his plan to prevent Willis from impeaching Trump in a case of electoral interference.

“Georgia RINOs responded to my call to fight the Trump witch hunt by acting like children and kicking me out of the caucus,” Moore wrote to X at the time. “But I’m not going anywhere.”
Moore was the most prominent sponsor of a special session to impeach and impeach Willis or cancel his office, winning Trump’s endorsement. Kemp denounced the appeal as “a scam of a scam” to collect contributions to Moore’s campaign.
