Fox Sports has previously aired its Super Bowl telecasts on its Fox Sports network, but for this year’s Big Game it is bringing its own coverage. free, ad-supported service, Tubi. The he announced on Wednesday that the NFL’s biggest game will be available on the streamer, with pregame coverage starting at 3:30 pm ET on Feb. 9 and Tubi Red Carpet at Super Bowl LIX.
The NFL rotates Super Bowl broadcasters every year, with CBS broadcasting last year. Fox had the NFL title game in 2023 and will have it again this year, while NBC and Peacock will have it in 2026 and ESPN and ABC will broadcast it in 2027.
The confirmation that Fox will make this year’s game available in 4K is welcome, but not unexpected, as they already showed the Super Bowl in 4K in 2020 and 2023. For 2023 it led to opportunities to similar cable, satellite and advertising providers, including DirecTV, Dish, Verizon, Optimum, Comcast, Fubo and YouTube TV, and to those streaming the Super Bowl through its Fox Sports program.
In addition to airing on Fox and streaming on Tubi, this year’s Super Bowl will also be available on Fox Deportes, Telemundo and “all NFL digital territories” without requiring users to prove they have a cable, satellite or pay TV service. Promotions are expected to be similar for different services, according to Miscellaneous.
