In Squid GamesThe first season, the main plot of B followed Hwang Jun-ho, played by Wi Ha-jun – a police officer who quits his job to join the competition. But his eyes are not focused on the prize he has won billions; he’s on a mission to find his long-lost brother, and with some tricks he manages to sneak undercover as one of the pink-clad rangers. Of course, what he discovers in the first season shocks both the characters and the audience – and paves the way for Jun-ho. the journey continues for the second season.
Jun-ho’s brother was revealed as the game Front Man in one season, a cold-blooded man shoots his brother (and sends him crashing to the ground) when they reunite after a long estrangement. This doesn’t stop Jun-ho from trying to find her (again) in season two; if anything, it makes him more determined. Of course, trying to figure out which islands are home to this game is no small task.
Talking with DeadlineWi explained that this is the first time he has played in several seasons of the show, and he appreciates the opportunity it gave him to get to know Jun-ho, flaws and all: “I’m not saying that Jun-ho is a person with good morals, but seeing how he puts his life at risk that he followed the truth and recognized justice was something that I liked most about him as a person. I also thought that he is a person that we need today. So I learned a lot from him.”
Jun-ho makes a mistake in the second season – not being honest with Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) about his brother’s history was a mistake, as he thought that he and Gi-hun could go beyond common sense. Squid Games officials and sneaking a tracking device into the competition. There’s also the subplot of a highly dependent (not random, as it turns out) boatman who cheerfully agrees to take him and his armed gang around on a hunt for the tiny island.
Suffice it to say that there is a lot for Jun-ho to take in Squid Gamesthey are coming the third and final season-though Wi is confident in his performance, especially based on the script he received from creator Hwang Dong-hyuk. “Hwang gave me the advice that Jun-ho needs to be more stable when it comes to emotions,” Wi told the outlet. Although he faces many challenges, he has to continuously search and achieve his goals until the end.
Squid Games Seasons one and two are now streaming on Netflix.
