Every player out of Arsenal’s fray

Tottenham will be looking at their north London rivals with no sympathy given their injury problems this season.

While Arsenal’s campaign has been hampered by long-term injuries to first Martin Odegaard and now Bukayo Saka, Ange Postecoglou has been forced to work without his first-choice defense for most of the current campaign.

Spurs’ injuries threatened them Premier League campaign, but retain their chances for silverware in three cup competitions. The club’s poor league performance eases the pressure on Wednesday’s north London derby, but an away win at Arsenal would be a monumental scalp for a manager who has yet to convince the entire Lilywhite fan base.

Tottenham’s injury situation has changed since the weekend and here are the latest ahead of their trip to the Emirates.

Goalkeepers and defenders

William vicar rushed back to the training ground after seeing Antonin Kinsky strut his stuff on debut against Liverpool last week. The 21-year-old’s impressive start in north London will only accelerate Vicario’s bid to return from a broken ankle, which is expected to keep him out until next month.

Fraser Forster has missed the last few games due to illness, and it remains to be seen whether he will be included on the bench against Arsenal.

In the central defender position, Radu Dragusin and Archie Gray should continue as a pair Christian Romero and Micky van de Ven both are sidelined until the end of the month. Ben Davies is nearing his return from a hamstring injury and could be included in the squad for Wednesday’s game.

The fate of Udogia he also succumbed to a hamstring problem and will return in mid-February.

Midfielders

Rodrigo Bentancur he was forced off in the opening exchanges against Liverpool after a worrying sequence. The midfielder was taken off on a stretcher and rushed to hospital, with Postecoglou confirming that Bentancur had suffered a concussion.

He did not feature against Tamworth this weekend and will not feature at the Emirates as he follows the concussion protocol.

Yves Bissouma is set to continue in midfield after stringing together some impressive performances to start 2025.

Forward

Richarlison he returned to training at the beginning of the year and is finally ready to make his long-awaited return from injury in the derby.

“(Richarlison) has been pestering me for the last ten days to be involved, but we’ve been disciplined with it and he’s looked really good in training,” Postecoglou said on Tuesday. “He looks like he’s ready to go and he’s very happy to have me back on.”

The Brazilian has been out for months with a hamstring injury sustained during the 4-1 win over Aston Villa.

However, Tottenham seemingly lost Timo Werner to a hamstring injury. The German struggled in Tamworth on Sunday but played 90 minutes before Spurs scored three in extra time. Spurs will wait for the scan results before making a diagnosis. However, he will not play on Wednesday.

The arrival of summer Wilson Odobert is out for a long time after undergoing hamstring surgery and the date of his return is not yet known.
