Last week, Meta decided it would instead of his reality check program and X-style “Community Notes” and it looks like this version is already being tested on Threads. Alessandro Paluzzi, a developer who often writes about Meta software, shared three photos which shows an early look at what Community Notes will look like in Threads.
Paluzzi’s photos show a new “Write a Community Comment” option in the options you can find in the Threads post corner. When you select it, it looks like you can post your posts anonymously, and if they’re rated as helpful, they’ll appear at the bottom of the post. The entire setup is not unlike X’s use of Community Notes, which started out as something called “bird watch” on Twitter already Elon Musk got it and reform the company.
Engadget has reached out to Meta for more information on new Threads and will update this post if we learn more.
Group Policy is one of the ways Threads is changing under the new Meta system. The program, which was versus sharing and promotion of the existing “politics”, will also give political. The head of Instagram and Threads Adam Mosseri showed how to change the amount of politics you see in your feed A short video shared at Threads today. Meta gives users three options: “See less,” which tries to eliminate political content, “Standard,” which shows more political content and “See more,” which treats politics like everything else on the app.
It’s not clear that Group Posts or the political changes will solve the problems users have with Threads, or if they will make anyone happy. It fits the “free speech warrior” image that Meta is trying to create, though.
