Federal judge clears path for release of special counsel’s report on Trump election case

A federal judge on Monday cleared the way for the release of the special counsel’s report into President-elect Trump’s election interference case.

Judge Aileen Cannon approved the release of the first of two volumes of special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation in her ruling Monday. Cannon will consider releasing the second volume on Friday, related to Trump’s handling of classified documents.
