BCCI announces the official start date

The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to begin on March 23, 2025. The start date of India’s prestigious cricket tournament has been pushed back by more than a week. However, there is still no announcement about the final date.

The decision to change the start date was announced by BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla. This decision is believed to have been taken at an extraordinary general meeting of the BCCI where the Board of Directors formally appointed the new secretary and treasurer.

IPL 2025 is scheduled to begin on March 23

The start date of IPL 2025 was March 14 earlier. While talking to reporters after the BCCI’s SGM, Rajeev Shukla announced that the tournament will now begin on March 23, though he did not reveal the change in the playoff and final dates.
