Democratic Sen. Warns ‘Los Angeles Fires A Foreshadowing of Atrocities to Come’, Claims Trump Bought ‘Big Oil’

As wildfires ravage California, Sen. Ed MarkeyD-Mass., said in a post on X that the catastrophe is “what looks like a climate emergency.” In another tweet, he took aim at President-elect Trump, claiming the new president has been bought by the oil industry.

“Trump has been bought for $1 billion by Big Oil. Just a reward for killing the IRA and the Green New Deal. We know what will happen. More fires, more climate disasters, more deaths. Los Angeles fires are a vision prior to the coming atrocities,” Markey stated in a post on X.

Markey, who says there is a “climate crisis,” has also warned about the potential effects artificial intelligence (AI).

It suggested that the growing use of AI could lead to “double data center electricity demand by 2026”, “increased carbon emissions”, “water supply shortages” and “e-waste “.

“We’re already facing a climate crisis. We can’t let AI make it worse,” Markey warned.
