President-elect Trump announced the incoming MPs for several key cabinet posts on Saturday in a series of social media posts as the date for his inauguration approaches.
Trump who takes possession of the position in less than 10 days, he made the announcement on Truth Social Saturday afternoon. He began by nominating Katharine MacGregor as the next assistant secretary of the interior, a position she held in the first Trump administration.
“Katharine is currently Vice President of Environmental Services at NextEra Energy, Inc., and previously worked at the Department of the Interior during my first four years as President,” Trump wrote. “She helped us in our quest to make our Nation Energy DOMINANT, and was also an integral part of the team that produced our historic ‘Health in America’ in National Mall”.
Trump then nominated David Fotouhi as the next deputy administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
“David worked at EPA throughout my first term, concluding his service as EPA’s acting general counsel,” the announcement said. “He is currently a partner at Gibson, Dunn, & Crutcher LLP. In our second term, David will work with our incredible EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin to advance policies for professional growth, freeing America’s energy dominance and prioritize clean air and clean water, and clean soil for ALL Americans.”
The President-elect then nominated James P. Danly to be the next US Assistant Secretary of Energy, describing his nominee as “a retired US Army officer who served two tours in the ‘Iraq, where he won the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.’
“He served during my first term as general counsel, commissioner and chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, where he won countless cases in federal court and pushed for regulatory reform to ensure abundant and affordable energy for to the American people,” Trump wrote. . “James earned his BA from Yale University and his J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law.”
In his latest accompanying announcement, Trump named Paul R. Lawrence as his next Assistant Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

“Paul was a great assistant secretary for VA benefits during my first term, implementing the legislation I signed to improve the GI Bill and modernize appeals,” Trump wrote. “Paul also helped us bring the claims backlog to the LOWEST LEVEL in VA history. Previously, Paul was a partner at Ernst & Young and vice president of public sector at Kaiser Associates.
“He will work with our next VA Secretary, Doug Collins, to ensure that our vet heroes are cared for and treated with the respect they deserve, in appreciation of the incredible sacrifices they have made for our country.”
After announcing the incoming deputies, Trump also announced that University of Chicago professor Casey B. Mulligan would serve as senior adviser for advocacy at the US Small Business Administration.
Trump called Mulligan “a highly respected expert on the regulations that are crushing our small businesses.”

“During my first term, Casey was the chief economist of my Council of Economic Advisers where he helped craft the economic policies that gave us the best economy in American history,” Trump wrote. “Casey will work with Kelly Loeffler, our top nominee for SBA administrator, to make sure we reduce regulations and allow small businesses to thrive like never before.”
