Arsenal will not be able to sign Newcastle star Alexander Isak in the summer transfer window because he will be too expensive.
The Daily Mail they discovered that the Gunners, who need an elite no.9he can’t afford the 25-year-old as the Magpies slapped an enormous £150m asking price on his head. That would mean the north London side would have to offer a UK record transfer fee, something their owner, Stan Kroenke, is “highly unlikely to approve”.
Isak started this season slowly but is now one of the most in-form players in Europe, even winning the Premier League Player of the Month award in December. The Sweden international scored eight goals for Newcastle and assisted two more in six games in December.

His last goal came at the Emirates against Arsenal as Eddie Howe’s side won 2-0 in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final.
The player was linked with a whole series of clubs this season, and his contract expires at St James’ Park in 2028. The Magpies are thought to want to tie him down to a new contract, but so far negotiations have stalled.

The Mail also reports that Arsenal will listen to offers for striker Gabriel Jesus at the end of the season. Their left back Oleksandr Zinchenko could also be sold this January transfer window.
Midfielder Thomas Partey, who is on £150,000-a-week wages, will also be able to leave when his contract expires in June.
The Gunners will be fine in terms of staying within profit and sustainability rules, but that still won’t allow them to bring Isak from Newcastle, it is thought.
Manager Mikel Arteta is believed to be an admirer of the former Borussia Dortmund man, as is former sporting director Edu, who left the club in November to take up a role with Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Any qualification for the Champions League will increase the chances of Isak staying at Newcastle, and the club are confident he will end up staying with them next season.
