OpenAI is well known for that Types of AIwhich until now exists mainly on cloud servers, its website and its applications for PC and mobile devices.
However, the company does not limit its ambitions to the software program: Today on X, Caitlin Kalinowski, a member of the expert staff at OpenAI and head of AR glasses at. Trimposted a message announcing that the company is hiring first roles of hardware robotics.
This includes an EE sensing engineer “to help us develop a sensor suite for our robots,” and a robotics engineer to design “gears, actuators, motors and linkages for robots.”
The document also includes a description of the new effort:
“Our robotics team is focused on unlocking multi-purpose robots and pushing them towards AG – Advanced intelligence in real-life, real-world situations. Working across a wide range of models, we combine leading hardware and software to explore a wide range of robotics. We strive to combine advanced AI capabilities with physical challenges. “
Kalinowski himself announced his work OpenAI a little more than two months ago “Leading robotics and consumer devices.”
Previously, OpenAI was said to be working on hardware and architecture Apple CEO Jony Iveand the company partnered with robotics startup Image to provide prototypes to power the ultimate humanoid robot.

It may not be a new place for OpenAI to occupy, however, as it is competing and taking acquisitions from Microsoft.
