The Eagles are rocked by illness ahead of the FA Cup clash

Crystal Palace could be without several players for their FA Cup third round tie against Stockport after illness hit the squad hard this week.

Manager Oliver Glasner says the giants have prevented several players from training and admitted he does not know who will be available for Sunday’s game.

“We had a lot of sick players this week or a lot of question marks,” Glasner said at a press conference.

“Until today (Friday), Jean-Philippe Mateta, Maxence Lacroix and Tyrick Mitchell have not trained. Caleb Kporha trained for the first time today, but Dean Henderson went home today because he was sick.

“It could be that one or two come back tomorrow, but of course they might not be available to start with if you’ve been in bed with a fever for almost a week, so there are still a lot of question marks.

“But all the healthy players made it quite easy for us because we had one of the best weeks of training in months, even with the small numbers.

“I’m really happy with how training went and that gives me a good feeling for this three game week coming up.”

News about the Palace team

Palace midfielder Will Hughes is a major question mark with a foot injury, while Adam Wharton is recovering from surgery to repair a problem affecting his hip and groin.

“Adam is improving, but he’s still a long way from training with the team, but he’s getting better,” Glasner said.

“I can’t tell you if it’ll be two weeks or three or four, but it’s unlikely he’ll be back in January.”

News about transfers in the palace

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner says the club is working to bring in two players during the January transfer window.

The palace was allegedly on the market

“As soon as we sign the player, we will tell you. We are working on two transfers, but I don’t know how soon we will realize them,” said Glasner.

“Speaking of which, it just makes it more expensive!”

Glasner also revealed that no Palace players have told him they want to leave the club in this window, amid interest in former club Chelsea centre-back Marco Guehi.

“If we can keep the squad together – because we’re really pleased with the players as they’ve developed over the last few months after a not-so-easy start – that looks pretty positive.

“Nobody told me they wanted to leave. That’s the most important part: the players want to stay here.”
