Most home security technology focuses on the front door. At CES 2025, we saw home security companies making plans to integrate everything into one device. What’s next? Smart video locks from brands like Lockly and TCL which does a little bit of everything.
These locks control door entry and allow the passage of keys, fingerprints or Apple Home Keys if the best smart locks around. But, like the best doorbellsthe locks have advanced cameras that can detect people, send alerts to your phone and support two-way communication from apps. And instead of connecting a third-party screen, they have displays on the lock to see who is approaching the door, without the need for a peephole or other devices.
Lockly’s Vision Prestige is a standout here with its touchscreen keyboard and Apple, but when it arrives later this year you’ll have to shell out $500 for any kind of security technology.
