Secretary of State Antony Blinken rejected President-elect Trump’s idea USA owns Greenlandsaying it “obviously” won’t happen.
“The idea expressed about Greenland is obviously not good, but perhaps more importantly it’s obviously one that’s not going to happen, so we probably shouldn’t waste a lot of time talking about it,” Blinken told a news conference in Paris. .
When asked about Trump’s recent comments the acquisition of GreenlandBlinken emphasized the importance of supporting allies and strengthening alliances.
“I think that one of the basic propositions that we have contributed to our work during the last four years is that we are stronger, we are more effective, we get better results when we work closely with our allies, without saying or doing things. this can alienate them,” he said.
