Bryan Mbeumo and his Brentford teammates celebrate (Photo by Dan Stephen/Getty Images)
Arsenal should supposedly do Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo one of their major transfers in the coming months.
The Cameroon international has been in terrific form in the Premier League this season, contributing a total of 13 goals and three assists so far, and it’s little surprise to see him linked with bigger clubs.
This is not the first time Mbeumo has been linked with Arsenalbut new information about the situation has arrived since Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg on your official account on X.
Ian Wright gave a BIG warning for the transfer to Arsenal!
Arsenal probably need someone this January due to Bukayo Saka’s recent injury, while Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus have long looked like they might not be good enough to be regulars in Mikel Arteta’s side.
There is a real lack of a prolific goalscorer in this Gunners squad and Mbeumo could be ideal to give them a bit more spark and a bit more outside threat.
There will undoubtedly be many fans looking for it last minute tickets for Arsenal vs Manchester United this weekend, but after watching the defeat at Newcastle, there could be a few who are a lot more pessimistic about what they will see from their side until top-flight reinforcements arrive.
Mbeumo hasn’t played for a top club before, so it could be that Arsenal would be too big a step up for him, but it’s hard to ignore how well he’s been playing this season.
There have been some comparisons with Sadio Mane, who was also a bit of a late bloomer but who also looked too good to play for a mid-table side like Southampton before Liverpool eventually snapped him up.
It would be a stretch to ask Mbeum to go to Arsenal and replicate what Mane did for Liverpool, but he looks to be the type of signing the north Londoners need.
Arsenal’s goalscoring problems were there for all to see last night in that 2-0 defeat at home to Newcastle, who ended up being more clinical than the home side, with Alexander Isak scoring against the club so heavily linked with him in recent months.
Mbeumo may not be in Isak’s league, but he would certainly improve this struggling Arsenal squad, and many fans will be hoping he doesn’t leave this deal until the summer.
