Feel the EV: Sony and Honda Finally Set Prices and Start Taking Orders

If you’ve been holding your breath on the electric sedan with PS5 Pro life, I have good news. Sony Honda Mobility was announced on The cost of CES 2025 Press conference that invitations are officially open for the upcoming Afeela 1 EV. The standard autonomous and fun sedan will retail for $89,900 for Origin spec and $102,900 for the upgraded Signature model.

It’s “A-Feelas” (ahem) as we’ve seen Sony’s EV releases at CES for years. The Vision-S car it first arrived in 2020, while the name Afeela was announced in 2023. PS5 Dual Sense controller to drive a car on stage and, this year, they summoned the EV via voice commands to reveal the car’s Afeela Personality Agent – an AI-powered digital assistant that you can talk to while inside and outside the car and have a conversation.

However, the biggest news on Monday was the announcement of prices and the opening of reservations in anticipation of the spring 2026 release. The top-of-the-range $102,900 signature will be the first to arrive with all the technology and options – from the rear entertainment system, 21-inch wheels and gray, black and white exterior colors and inside. The $89,900 Origin model drops the rear spoiler, down to 19-inch wheels and you can have it in any color you want, as long as it’s black. Delivery of the low-cost product will begin in 2027.

Whichever way you go, Sony offers a 91-hour battery with an estimated range of 300 miles. NACS charging is standard up to 150 kW and each model will be supported by Afeela Intelligent Drive and Afeela Personal Assistant. Of course, Sony’s large pillar-to-pillar display is standard, powered by Unreal Engine map images, driver assistance systems and user interfaces.

Sony tells us that the Afeela EV will have 40 sensors in its driver assistance system and will feature what it calls “one-touch, end-to-end” autonomous driving. Just jump in and tell the car where to go and it will take you there while you eat what’s on the big screen. At least that’s the vision, the automaker’s pre-order website currently only mentions Level 2 autonomy.

Interested parties may reserve their spot for a $200 deposit Sony Honda Mobility’s Afela reservation site. Too rich for your blood? (Or live outside of California?) You can still drive and know Sony and Honda EV in Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 5 for less moolah.
