Democratic Senator from Minnesota Amy Klobuchar is facing backlash from both X users and the platform itself for his post about the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot in which he claimed police officers were “injured and killed.”
“Four years ago, the certification of the electoral vote was disrupted by a violent mob. Police officers were injured and killed,” Klobuchar. published in X on tuesday “Our democracy hung in the balance. I knew we had to do our duty and complete the count, and in the early hours of January 7 we did.”
That message soon received a “Community Note” from X that said, “No agents were killed.”
“The medical examiner found that Sicknick died of natural causes, which means “a disease alone causes death. If death is hastened by injury, the manner of death is not considered natural.” Four other officers committed suicide days or months later.”

“No police officers were killed,” conservative commentator Dana Loesch published in X.
“No cops were killed,” said Red State writer Bonchie published in X. “The time to stop lying about it was a long time ago.”
“Can someone explain to me why it’s okay for politicians to continually lie about this?” Bonchie added. “Let’s say you think the J6 is the worst ever. Fine, but how is it acceptable to say the agents were killed? It’s been four years and the fact checkers still won’t touch that.”
DOJ IG REVEALS THAT 26 FBI INFORMANTS WERE PRESENT ON JANUARY 6
“It’s so sickening to see people lie about who was killed,” said Mollie Hemingway, editor-in-chief of The Federalist. published in X. “A Trump supporter was shot and killed, but no police officer was killed. Someone of your stature shouldn’t be blatantly lying about that. He’s just sick.”
“She should be censured for this lie,” said Chris Barron, president of Right Turn Strategies published in X.
“Not a single officer was killed on January 6,” said Federalist Elections Correspondent Brianna Lyman. published in X. “Sicknick died of natural causes on January 7. Two officers died by suicide in the weeks that followed, while two other officers who were not present at the time of the protest later died of suicides that could not be linked directly to J6.”
“No police officers were killed,” said conservative writer Ben Kew published in X. “The only person who was killed was Ashli Babbitt, a Trump supporter.”
Fox News Digital reached out to Klobuchar’s office for comment, but did not hear back.
