A federal judge holds Rudy Giuliani in contempt of court for failing to respond to requests for information about his assets related to his defamation verdict ordering him to pay $148 million to two Georgia election workers.
The Associated Press reported that New York-based US District Judge Lewis Liman ruled that Trump’s former lawyer and New York mayor “willfully violated an unequivocal order of the court” when he “exceeded” the date December 20 deadline to send information.
Liman said Giuliani “tried to run the clock by stalling” and withholding information about assets he could use to pay Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Wandrea Moss after he accused them of fraud during the 2020 elections.

This comes after Giuliani, 80, testified for three hours on Friday and again on Monday explaining the delays in sharing information about his assets.
Liman said he would issue sanctions against Giuliani for contempt, which he will decide later.
Another trial set for January 16 will decide whether a New York Yankees The World Series ring and Giuliani’s house in Florida can be used to pay off his debt to Freeman and Moss.
