LG G5 OLED TV Bumps Brightness Even Higher
This new low-end TV looks like a contender for the best screen of 2025.
Hey guys, I really appreciate a picture, and this TV right here might be the best picture I’ve ever seen. This is the LG G5. Now I haven’t had much time to see it. It’s a new TV, but this OLED TV looks great from what I’ve seen. So the main difference between the G5 and G4 from last year is the brightness. LG said it has increased the brightness level by 40%. Now I can try again later. I have to take his word for it now, but I’m looking here in LG. Demo suite, it looks very bright and how it affects the brightness and black levels of the OLED, so the darkness of the screen is really dark even in a room with a lot of ambient light. Now that is very important. This is not a very bright room, but there are lights here and I can see that the black levels are maintained even if there is some light in the room and you get a great contrast combination because of the better black levels and again they say they are better than last year. Rejecting ambient light and maintaining better contrast, so I was able to take a brief look at the image quality on the G5, and I have to say it’s impressive from what I saw. Now this is not a real comment aside from the comparison of the competitors. It’s seen once for me on television, but it shines brightly. I was looking clearly, which is a very bright picture. The most accurate video colors will be a little off, but all told, it looks like it’s going to be balanced with bright highlights and deep blacks. Standards. I am very happy with all of it. They also added a 165 Hz refresh rate which in games can make a difference. But in short, it’s pretty much the same as the G4 from last year, except for better brightness and less ambient light in the room. Now this TV is available in 55 to 97 inches, but the 83, 77, 65, and 55 inch sizes are the ones that keep all the goodies. It will be expensive, no prices will come out in the long run. A year, so we’ll see how it measures up to the best OLED TVs out there later this year. So it’s not the only TV I looked at here from LG. They also have their own TV show from last year. Now it’s on the market for about $60,000 so you know, get your wallets out. This is the best technology that can go from previewing to flipping a small black panel to look like a normal TV, like the original television. Amazing technology, but. Very expensive. They also have their M5 series, which is their wireless display technology, so they say the image quality is the same as the G. It will be more expensive, of course, because it uses a special box to send signals from your game. console, your cable box or anything that goes to a wireless TV. So they’ve changed wireless technology a little bit. They say that now you can put that box in the cabinet, which is pretty cool as long as there is no metal in the cabinet, and will allow transmission to happen between the box and. The TV looks the same as the HDMI cable from the display they installed here. Very good for that. LG is also announcing the C5 series of OLED TVs. That was my favorite budget TV last year, very similar to the 2024 model, although they say like the G, it’s a bit brighter, so we’ll see. It is also available in a variety of shapes. That’s a lot of OLED TVs from LG here at CES 2025. Can’t wait to see a few this year.
