The moment Sofia Falcone walks into that fun family dinner in that yellow dress PenguinThe fourth part, “One hundred years,” actor Cstin Milioti cemented the character as one of Batman’s greatest villains. His canary in the coal mine is one of the best pictures of the show, and was created in collaboration between Milioti, Penguin showrunner Lauren LeFranc, and director Helen Shaver.
By that time we had seen what led to the heir being killed by his father because of the Hangman’s murder and his injuries in Arkham because of him; he was freed from his sins after his death The Batman. But even then, his freedom came with some pretty bad juju, no thanks to Oz, as he quickly lost his brother and their plans for the day. In “Cent’anni,” he confronts his family for continuing to mock him by sending him to Italy to test his strength like many others before him.
In an interview with IndieWirethe actor shared the amount of team effort to create his dream Batman villain with LeFranc. “It’s good as soon as I signed. I was on the phone for hours with Lauren where she guided me through everything, and then I got the first four drafts,” Milioti said. “I had time to call him and talk to him and sit with him and read them, and he passed me in the final four in terms of what happens, the big events there, but I got it right after I finished. he signed.”
From the beginning Milioti was game for everything. “I’m a huge Batman fan, it’s been my lifelong dream to be a Batman villain and show his whole story. For that to come from a woman’s brain—you’d love to hear it, hear it,” he said.
The yellow dress started a lot of Reddit threads where you can find it; in fact, it was created by costume designer Helen Huang specifically for the moment when Sofia enters her powers. He said: “I had 10,000 things to put on that dress. “We were always talking to Helen about what would be more clear and let you see this body language – it’s the first time you see her really breathing, and being happy, and lightening… scars, and then we also knew that this was going with a gas mask, so I also want to do something with his eyes so you can see them through the gas mask.”
Milioti described Sofia’s entrance into the scene as showing “her new war paint,” and indicated that “there’s been a change in her. Combining all of those things was really fun. Also knowing that we’re building a Batman character, when are you going to do it?”
Milioti is hoping for a comeback like we all do, as there are “infinite possibilities” where Sofia can go again.
“Obviously I want to see him out of Arkham. That’s like number one. I don’t want him in there. So I want to see him out, and give him back,” he said. “Maybe now he would be like a loose cannon, because he hasn’t really focused on him and gained power, but depending on what happens to him there, he could be a bigger target. I want to explore that.”
