A Quick Primer on MagSafe
Most of the wireless chargers in this guide are MagSafe wireless chargers or Qi2 approved. This means that they take advantage of the magnetic field behind the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, iPhone 15and iPhone 16 version. I cannot stress this enough: When you buy a case, make sure it is MagSafe case. We have a number of third party options in the comments above. A normal iPhone case will weaken the magnetic pull in the device and they won’t stick to MagSafe Accessories properly.
What is MagSafe? You don’t have to worry about poor connectivity with the wireless charger, meaning you won’t wake up with a dead iPhone. Technically, this perfect alignment means the chargers can charge up to 15 watts faster, but Apple has restricted this to select products from a number of models. MagSafe is also available in the AirPods charging case (according to for your example). Apple’s AirPods and AirPods Pro with wireless charger will work with almost all Qi wireless charging pads on these chargers (as will. many third-party wireless headphones), but if you have AirPods with MagSafe, then you can also attach them with a magnetic mount. If you don’t have a MagSafe iPhone, then your device won’t connect to these chargers, although we have some suggestions for older iPhones (and iPhone SE).
What is StandBy Mode and Nightstand Mode?
You’ll see us introduce two unique styles in this book: StandBy mode and Nightstand mode. What should I do?
Standby mode was entered into iOS 17. When you place your iPhone on the charging dock, it turns the screen into a color dock, displaying a clock (with a variety of designs to choose from), photos from your library, or widgets. If you have an iPhone that supports the always-on screen, you can choose to have the display turn off after a period of time when the iPhone is not in use or if the room is dark. Go to Settings > Standby that you liked it.
Nightstand mode has been spinning on the Apple Watch. Basically, when the watch is upright and charged, the watch stays upright so you can tell the time. You can change this on your Apple Watch by going to Settings > General > Nightstand mode.
