Gabriele Gravina, president of the Italian Football Federation (SIPC), said: “Gattuso is a symbol of Italian football, a shirt is like his other skin.
“His motivation, professionalism and experience will be fundamental in resolving the following challenges of the national team. He knows the importance of our goals and thank him for the willingness and dedication in accepting this challenge. He shares a FIGC development project for the development of our football, in which Azzurri T -shirt is a central part.”
Figc turned to Gattusou after failing to name Claudio Ranieri, who instead decided to stay in the role of senior advisers in Roma.
The 47-year-old had a wonderful playing career, but it was not easy to repeat that success as the main coach.
He started at Swiss Side Sion, but he did not last long, starting the pattern that he continued on Palermo, Ofa Crete and Pisa.
Gattuso returned to AC Milan, where he played as a player to train his under the age of 19, but was promoted to the first team coach after the Vincenza Montella release in November 2017.
Sixth and fifth place endings saw him dismissed in May 2019, and six months later he was appointed Napoli Boss. In Naples, he claimed that he was the only silver accessories of his managerial career-2020. Coppa Italia-Alli, his 18-month term ended in May 2021.
Improved magic in Fiorentini was preceded by passing points and in Valenner and Marseille, which led him to Hajduk Split, where he gave up after one season.
His resume seems to suggest that this is a risk of FIGC just one year from the World Cup finals in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The qualifications have embarked on a mixed start and their next two games – against Estonia and Italy – they are already shaped as a key node in Group I.
