German star has become a fifth member of the club of £ 100m with a record offer

Liverpool is ready to complete the signing of German striker Florian Wirtz after the Premier League champions allegedly reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen on a contract worth £ 116 million, including accessories.

The move will see Liverpool knock down the British transfers record to get Wirtza, which was previously associated with Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

Wirtz surpassed 30 goals in each of the last two seasons. He raised 37 in 2023-24, while Leverkusen won in double double and DFB Pocal double, and reached the Europa League final, where the defeat of Atalanta marked his only loss of the season.

Although Leverkusen did not win a major trophy at 2024-25, Wirtz was included in 30 goals in the second star season. However, the size of the fee means that there is a significant pressure on his shoulders to deliver at Anfield.

But it is far from the first player to join the Premier League club with a fee of at least £ 100m.

Indeed, four more others did so, although they enjoyed different levels of success.

Jack Gialish: Aston Villa in Manchester City – £ 100m (2021)

The abandonment of his boyish club was difficult for Grealish, but the move to the city paid off because he gave seven trophies for an attacking midfielder.

Grealish won three Premier League titles with City, and at the same time tasted fame in the Champions League, FA Cup, Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

He was crucial in the high season of the 2022-23 victory, registering 16 participation in the goal.

However, in recent times, he has fallen for the benefit of Pep Guardiola and seems to have been destined to leave the Etihad stadium, with the launch of the loan seemingly.

Enzo Fernandez: Benfica in Chelsea – £ 106.8 million (2023)

Fernandez is a man who will move Wirtz as a record holder when his transfer passes.

Chelsea signed it in February 2023. After a crucial role of Fernandez in the Argentine success of the 2022 World Cup.

He struggled to justify that cost during his first season and a half, but Fernandez’s wealth improved in his second full campaign.

The 24-year-old recorded 22 participations in the goal in 2024 by Do-25, as Chelsea qualified for the Champions League and won the Conference League.

Declan Rice: West Ham to Arsenal – 105 million pounds (2023)

After claiming the fame of the conference league in the last season with the Hammers, Rice has yet to win a trophy with Arsenal.

However, this is not because of the lack of attempting on his part.

In his time at the Emirates Stadium, Rice established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world.

In two seasons, he has 35 participation in the goal in all competitions, and his most striking two free kicks he scored against Real Madrid in this season’s Champions League quarterfinals.

His transition to northern London was undoubtedly success. All that is missing is silver accessories.

Moises Caicedo: Brighton and Hove Albion to Chelsea – £ 100m (2023)

The Ecuadorian was extraordinary in 2022-23 for seagulls, but initially struggled to make an impression on arriving at the Stamford Bridge.

This has changed at 2024-25, with Caicedo crucial for the success of a blues with its fighting game in the middle of the field.

Idrissa Gueye (181) was the only Premier League midfielder with a larger combined total number of fights and interceptions from Caicedo (163).

Caicedo also made a great progress, shooting 235 passages in the last third, which is the most of any midfielder in the division.

Only 22, the signs are good that Chelsea’s decision to spend such a huge sum on Caicedo will be avenged.
