George Groves, former WBA Super-You World Champion, said Sky Sports: “(Simpson) is prepared to enter with a decent name and build a payment fight by the view, because it has such a locally locally in Barnsley and I think that is from there.
“If he was with Ben Whittaker, who is super famous through the Internet and makes huge numbers and is very commercially, with a local boy of his hometown who has a huge support and an exciting style of fighting for watching, that could be the way to get into a mass struggle.”

Although Groves sees the potential for Simpson to move to the world class at 168 pounds.
“Accordingly with the right and in accordance with this, and if it manages to make any improvements, I think he is certainly capable of being inside and among her,” Groves said. “I would love to see him returning to the drawing board and improve in many ways if he will crack at the highest level.
“You’re talking about moving from his division, haunting the fighting, I don’t like it. If you are super-mediocre weight, try (there). But he’s huge weight, or so it seems. If one day he end up in a lightweight category, then maybe do so before, rather than later.”
