We’re closing in on 2024, so why not do it with the CES nonsense announcements? Like this premium (it should be premium!) microwave from LGwith a larger screen than your iPad. I don’t know what you’ll see in the three and a half minutes it takes to fry up a butter chicken curry, but you can in HD quality.
The tablet integrates with LG’s ThinQ Smart Home Dashboard if you think it’s time to change the channel on your TV or tinker with similar Matter and Thread devices, such as smart lights and er, and other things. It can also be paired with the company’s induction oven to show cooking progress if you’re struggling to lift your neck from the microwave to the kitchen burners. No washing machine inside washing machinehowever, you have to love CES.
LG is at a journey this year.

Big tech news you missed
Documents and facilities at the US Treasury Department were found during a cyberattack linked to a “Chinese state-sponsored Advanced Persistent Threat actor.” The attack was so devastating, it has been called “a major cyber security incident.” The Treasury Department said it was working with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the FBI to understand the extent of the breach but did not share how long the files and workstations were accessed or what was discovered. Beijing has refused to participate.
Honesty? 2024 was a tough year for cameras, with new devices offering minor tweaks and minor improvements. But drones? Especially, entry-level? DJI has made it an interesting year, spitting out several models, including the portable, easy-to-use Neo, while opposing US government plans to ban sales to the company.
