Cile is in a heavy position that Argentina’s world champions should be beat if they want to keep their dream of qualifying for the World Cup final next summer.
Chile endured a poor qualifying campaign, winning only two of his 14 games. Their hopes of automatic qualification have been completed, but they retain hope that they will finish seventh in the 10 team table and secure the playoff site.
They are five points in Venezuela with four games and realistically require maximum points from tomorrow’s game with Argentina and Tuesday an equally scary trip to Bolivia for a conflict played at height.
It seems like a long shot, but an experienced midfielder Arturo Vidal was in a typical bull’s mood.
Former man of Juventus and Barcelona said: “Clearly, we have the last chance against Argentina. If we win in three points, we will surely qualify.
“In addition, it will be easier against Argentina than the game we play in Bolivia. Against Argentina we always play well, and more with our people. I have all my faith.”
Chile chief Ricardo Garec is also in the last chance. The Chilean Football Federation wanted to release him in October, but was not able to do the size of the fee to which he would be entitled.
That payment clause expires as soon as the qualification is mathematically impossible, which means that this time it will be out of work next week.

Argentine chief Lionel Scaloni has no such worries after focusing his country on the success of the World Cup and Copa America.
Albicelests have already secured their place in the exhibition next summer in the United States, Mexico and Canada, winning 10 out of 14 games.
They will also be reinforced by Lionel Messi’s return, who missed the double head against Uruguay and Brazil in March due to injury.
