The signing of a new attacking midfielder who will replace Kevin de Bruyne is one of Man City’s priority for this summer, but Cityzens is very difficult to sign any of her goals.
Florian Wirtz was on Man City’s radar, but now it looks like he will join Liverpool. And recent reports have now discovered Arsenal weighed the move for Morgan Gibbs-Whitewhich is also a shortlist of former Premier League champions.
And now the second name could be drawn from the understanding of Man City, judging by the attitude of Aston villa.
Per Football insiderPete O’Rourke revealed that Aston Villa is not planning to sell Morgan Rogers this summer, despite the interest of numerous clubs – one of which is Man City.
“They will watch alternatives for this offensive midfielder, playmaker who will enter and improve the wealth of City next season. Morgan Rogers had a great season for Aston Villa … Villa will not plan to entertain any offers for Rogers, despite the concern for PSR -Ai FFP.”
Rogers had an excellent season with Aston Villa, and former young man Man City scored 14 goals and 13 assists in all competitions. This has led to many clubs that take into account the summer move, with Chelsea one of them.
It will be interesting to see who Man City is going for now, since Wirtz and Rogers are seemingly unattainable. Gibbs-White is still achievable, but it will have to be aware of the interests of other clubs. As things stand, it could be a frustrating period for Pepa Guardiola if the real player does not add to his squad on the eve of the 2025-26 season, which began in August.
