Ledley King believes that Tottenham is ready to step up a ‘massage occasion’ and says there is no fear factor against the Utt man in the Europa League final

Tottenham legend Ledley King supports her side to finally end her trophy drought and raised the Europa League on Wednesday.

The Spurs face Manchester United in Bilbau for honor, passing both of their semi -final matches.

For so many years, the Northern London Club approached, especially ending the runners in the 2019 Champions League final, as well as the last step in other competitions.

But there is a renewed sense of belief in the camp for what could be the last game of Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian boss said earlier in the season that he always wins in his second term, and he has the opportunity to prove his suspicious in Spain, despite the gloomy Premier League campaign.

And King believes it’s a huge game for the club, in more context.

Speaking BetmgmHe said: “Playing in the grand finale is a huge opportunity and it is a huge game for Spurs – not only in the context of this season, but also forward.

“It’s been many years since we raised the trophy, so that it would make it up here, the belief that it moves forward in the group that they are good enough to win large trophies.

“I think we played good against good teams, in the basic sense. The away games are so important in the European competition, so so solid on the road is a big advantage.

“The manager managed to get into a strong line throughout the competition, and the insurance of the top eight places in the league phase was a great incentive to ensure the best chance of advancement.

“Belief has definitely grown in the group that the tournament has progressed. It was a new format at the beginning of the season and people were curious to see how it was decaying.

“It will be close. Obviously, the Spurs already have three wins over United this season and that could be huge.

“When you know you can beat your opponent, that’s a big advantage. I remember winning Arsenal and Chelsea for the first time … Removes fear factor.

“It’s always in your head when you lost to that team. The first goal will be massive, especially if the Spurs get it. It will be interesting to see that Manchester United responds to pressure.”

Heir to the throne

Due to the injury, the Spurs played most of their campaign without the preferred merger of Micky Van de Ven and Cristiano Romera.

But the duo finally returns and fits completely in the key time for the club, and their presence on the back could be the key to guarding the united side that struggled to create a chance.

King had nothing but praise to the Dutchman, and whom he identified as a top talent as soon as he arrived at Spurs.

He added: “Micky van de Ven is a top class. A lot of players, when they come to the Premier League, take them for a while to settle and show what they are capable of. It was with him, however, it was clear how good he was.

“And he is such a valuable player and still so young. Return to the side brings confidence to other players and, hopefully, at that stage now is after his injuries where he can trust his body that he will play again in full throttle.

“His pace is stunning and is a great advantage, but his ability on the ball is so impressive.

“In it and (Cristian) Romero, we have two defenders on the ball, something that is so important today.

“Romero can choose the passage between the lines, and Van de Ven can make the ball on the ball. It’s such an impressive-one-to-play part of the 3-0 game in United was one of the best parts of football I’ve seen all season.
