In recent development, Delhi Capitals (DC) shared a large update about the availability of foreign players for the rest of the IPL 2025 season, which should continue on May 17th. The franchise confirmed that Vice-Captain Faf du Plexis and the South African Tristan Stubbs re-joined the department.
Delhi Capitals are in fifth place on the IPL 2025 points, after securing six wins compared to 11 games. Their last firming against Punjab Kings (PBKS) was abandoned due to tension in India and Pakistan. On Sunday, the team will play their next match against Gujarata Titan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
In a statement announced on Saturday, Delhi Capitals confirmed that Faf du Plexis and Tristan Stubbs re -joined the team ahead of the tournament sequel.

“JSW and GMR co -owners on Saturday confirmed Delhi Capitals on Saturday that Vice President Faf du Plexis and teammate Tristan Stubbs re -joined the team ahead of IPL 2025 classes,” said the franchise statement.
Faf du Plexis and Tristan Stubbs returned home after IPL was suspended. DU Plexis will be available for the rest of the tournament. However, Stubbs will only be available until May 26, as it is included in South Africa team for the upcoming World Cup World Cup finals.
Delhi Capitals also stated that the Australian Mitchell Starc and South African comprehensive Donovan Ferreira will be unavailable. The franchise expressed her understanding and support for the decisions of both players, wishing them further success in their obligations.
“The franchise also confirmed that the Australian Pacer Mitchell Starc and the South African comprehensive Donovan Ferreira are currently unavailable. Delhi Capitals fully respect their decision and expands his support and best wishes for their continuous success,” the publication was further added.
Starc was selected as the Australian team for the World Cup finals. Delhi has signed Bangladesh Fast Bowling Mustafizur Rahman as a replacement for Jake Fraser-McGurk, who will not return to India for personal reasons.
Mustafizur represented Delhi Capitals in the 2022 and 2023 season. In eight matches in 2022 he took eight hicket, with an economic rate of 7.62, while in just two games he presented and took one Wickket 2023. Total, Mustafizur played 57 games and took 61 Wikets at the rate of economy of 8.14.
Prior to the IPL suspension, Delhi Capitals played his last match against Punjab Kings in Dharamsali on May 8th, but the game was abandoned after only 10.1 additions.
The DC started with four consecutive victories, but then fought. They lost four of the next six games, which threatened their hopes in the playoffs. Their 11th match against Sunrizers Hyderabad (SRH) is also flushed, resulting in both teams sharing points.
