Jermall Charlo wants Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero next fight “washed.” Romero (17-2, 13 ko) will also be defeated by Ryana Garcia and Haney, destroying all the chances of fighting soon.

Haney’s management is unlikely to agree to fight him against big blows like Rolly, because they would know what will happen. Devin will fall apart with the first big shooting Rolly Lands, and his career will be ready for the trash.
“It looks like it would be Devin Haney. If Rolly washed him, then it was, he washed it,” said Jermall Charlo in Media About whom he wants to see the newly married WBA ‘regular’ champion in the weight of Roland ‘Rolly’ Romera to fight the next one.
“If you do what you just did Ryan to Haney, it makes a lot of sense and a lot of money. As for the inherited, I would say you come back and stop Dev. I say Dev or Gervont,” Charlo said.
You can hardly claim that Haney was already washed, even without Rolly beat him. This performance Haney turned against Jose Ramirez he showed that he was too thin to have the opportunity against any of the good fighters in 147 or 140.
Last Friday, Romero defeated Ryan (24-2, 20 KOS) in great upset, beating him by a unanimous decision in 12 rounds at Times Square, New York. Rolly was elected opponent Garcia. They were supposed to face immediately after the fight to announce their October rematch. Rolly spoiled everything.
Haney (32-0, 15 ko) won the fight against Jose Ramirez, but she looked so bad about running, and his supplies fell the same way as if he would lose it. He is treated as a defeat because he looked so timid. Now it’s too late. If Haney looked like pure gold against Ramirez, they might have been able to save the fight against Garcia for October.
Boxing fans would still be interested in watching because Devin looks great. But with Haney’s performance I worse than Ryan’s, there was no way to fight the fight. Maybe he permanently destroyed the chances of a rematch.
I don’t see Turks Alalshikh who wants to bother with Haney after a knockout loss from Rolly. Why would he?
Some promoters like Eddie Hearn would continue to be interested in signing Haney for his name recognition. He could take him to England and provide him with the treatment of Conor Benn with an careful match. However, he would not be a sustainable candidate who would be useful for construction.
