Brighton were held to a frustrating draw as Brentford picked up a point in the Premier League on the south coast.
The home side had most of the game and 24 shots on goal, but could not find a way past Mark Flekken or his replacement Hakon Valdimarsson in the Brentford goal.
Julio Enciso set the tone in the opening minutes when he shot wide of the box after Flekken’s pass was intercepted.
The Brentford keeper then made good saves from Matt O’Riley and Kaoru Mitoma before injuring his groin.
The Bees threatened themselves from time to time, and Yoane Wissa’s goal was disallowed by a solid backline.
Solly March returned as a late substitute after a 14-month injury lay-off but was unable to inspire a goal as both teams had to settle for a draw. It is only the second point that Brentford have won away from home.
Brighton – who are now six without a win in the league – are now 10th in the table, while Brentford are two points behind in 11th.
More to come.
