Alpine announced that the director of the team Oliver Oakes resigned with the current effect.
The Oakes, who became an alpine boss last summer, will be taken over by Executive Advisor Flavio Briatore, who has overseen several world titles for Benetton in the 1990s and Renault in the mid-2000s.

The Oakes founded the Grand Prix Hitech 2015, and the British suit led the Single 2 championship, including Formula 2 and Formula 3. British is a former racing driver and won the 2005 Karting World Carting Title.
He took over from Otmar Szafnauer as the Director of the Alpine Team in August 2024 and saw a spectacular dual pedestal for Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly in Brazil later that year.
Briatore is a controversial figure in F1 after being part of the “Crashgate” scandal in which his driver Nelson Piquet deliberately overthrew at Grand Prix in Singapore in 2008 to help the teammate Renault Fernand Alons in a race victory.

He was banned from F1 for his involvement in the incident, but this was canceled by the French court.
The 75-year-old returned to F1 in May 2024 as an executive advisor of the Alpine.
Briatore has collaborated with the F1 since the early 1990s and enjoyed the championship with Michael Schumacher in 1994 and 1995, followed by Fernando Alonso 2005 and 2006.
