Jamie Carragher was unimpressed with Marco Cucurello, branding the Spain full-back “disgraceful”, after his two slips gave Tottenham a 2-0 lead over Chelsea this afternoon.
Cucurella appeared to have the wrong studs on his boots after twice losing his footing on the turf and falling to the ground. The first time saw him lose possession of the ball to Brennan Johnson, who crossed to Dominic Solanke to score.
In the second slip, the ball eventually fell to Dejan Kulusevski, who put it into the lower right corner.
After the second goal, Cucurella ran to the touchline to pick up a boot with a longer stud, to which ex-Liverpool defender Carragher said: “Cucurella comes on the bench, don’t blame anyone else – it’s your own fault son! Who does he blame, kitman? An absolute school thing. uncomfortable.
“He slipped again. Look at him shrugging. Didn’t he warm up?”
