Guardiola denotes the ‘extraordinary’ blacksmiths after the city reaches the third consecutive FA Cup Final

Pep Guardiola praised Mateo Kovacic as “extraordinary” after Manchester City reached the FA Cup final with a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

City progressed to the third consecutive FA Cup final thanks to the goals of Rico Lewis and Joska Guardiol, who first laid Kovacic in the second minute.

The Croat was first in Wembley, where the forest hit a wooden structure three times in the second half as they sought the way back to the competition.

Despite Forest’s accident, City deserved the winners because they maintained hope that they would save silver accessories from a disappointing season.

And Guardiola made the praise of former midfielder Real Madrid and Chelsea Kovacation after booking a meeting with Crystal Palace on May 17th.

“Kovacic is extraordinary. The last three or four games have been amazing,” Guardiola ITV Sport said.

“In his age, he can’t play every three days, but we are fortunate to have time to recover. We need him for the quality and calm he has.”

Guardiola is the same adjective to describe Lewis, who broke the downtime with the first shooting of the match.

“I’m smart, but not enough to see that (Lewis scoring),” Guardiola added. “His positioning in his pockets is extraordinary.

“It was a good start. The way we played we didn’t let them make a lot of transitions where they were so dangerous. They also didn’t arrive much in the last third with Crosses with (Chris) Wood and so on.

“They had a chance in the game, this is the team that with the game in hand it is better than us in the Premier League.

“They created a little more than in the game we played there one or two months ago (in the Premier League). They are a great team. I generally like most of the things we did.

“Seven semi -finals in a row and three finals in a row … Not bad!”

Morgan Gibbs-White hit a crossbar and an inner forest cell, while Taiwo Awoniyi also hit the post.

“A few months ago, the ball enters the place,” Guardiola said of the city wealth in the second half. “It goes on one side or the other. It’s all in the head, in the heads of players.”

City now has to divert to his fight for the Champions League football next season. Guardiola men are the fourth, which is a point ahead of Forest to play more six, and five teams qualified for the Champions League this season.

“If you said three years ago, you would reach three FA Cup finals in a row, come on. It’s amazing,” Guardiola said.

“We now have four finals that will go to the Premier League and we have to recover and go again against Wolves (Friday).”
