Real Madrid doubled with the end of the royal Spanish Football Federation to remove the official team awarded by Saturday’s Copa del Rey final.
The request of the Club targets Judge Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxe and VAR official Pablo Gonzalez Fuertes, after an emotional press conference on Friday.
De Burgos Bengoetxe reportedly fell apart in tears as he spoke of a recent criticism of his family. Gonzalez Fuertes repeated these concerns, promising that the steps to resolve the judges who are ongoing will be taken.
Los Blancos interpreted a press conference as evidence of prejudice towards them, pointing to the Gonzalez Fuertes remarks.
A club based in Madrid, known for broadcasting critical profiles of the judge before the match on TV Real Madrid, replied seeking a change of officials.
However, the reports say Rfef rejected the appeal, judging that there was no valid justification for replacement of judges in such a short time.
In response to the judgment, Real Madrid has taken an unusual step skip both of their training before the match to La Cartuja and their scheduled press conference on Friday night.

The club also announced an official statement by publicly criticizing the judges and persuading the Federation to immediately take measures.
“Real Madrid believes that the public statements made today by the judges are marked for the Copa Del Rey finals, which should be held tomorrow, April 26, 2025, unacceptable.
“These protests, which surprisingly focused their attention on videos from the media protected by freedom of expression, such as Real Madrid TV, deliberately performed 24 hours earlier against one of the participants of the finals, they show, once again, the clear and obvious animation and hostility of these relations towards Real Madrid.
“Another surprising statement, threatening tone, alluding to the unity of judges, were used to publish alleged measures or actions that are far less than the principles of honesty, objectivity and impartiality that should overcome just hours before a football event that attracts hundreds of millions of people in the world.
“Given the seriousness of what happened, Real Madrid hopes that those responsible for Rfef and the judicial body will act accordingly, the adoption of the necessary measures to defend the prestige of the institutions they represent.”
In the midst of guessing that Real Madrid could finally boycott if the changes were not made, there was no official certificate of whether they were planning to follow such a drastic move.
