Mateta Brilliance muffler rifles but Liverpool title party still on hold

Arsenal has delayed a seemingly inevitable party for the title of Liverpool for at least a few more days, despite being twice drawn into drawing 2-2 with Crystal Palace on Emirates.

Gunners were to avoid defeat against Eagles to prevent the Premier League escape leaders crowned with champions before the weekend.

However, given that Arsenal welcomed PSG in the Champions League semi -finals next week, and Palace is facing Aston Villa in the Fa Cup in the last four on Saturday, both sides could be forgiven for having eyes on their upcoming strengthening.

Jakub Kiwior gave Gunners an early advantage of his head, but Eberechi eze bouncing a volley from the edge of the box.

Leandro Trossard then found the net to restore the advantage for Mikel Arteta before the vacation, but visitors re-drew the level in the second half with kindness of a neatly shaped end from Jean-Philippe Mateta.

As the action took place

It took all three minutes for Arthin’s side to take the lead. From a free kick, Kiwi, who became a defensive support in the absence of injured Gabriel, stood up high to reach his first goal for the artillery in more than a year.

Suddenly it was a little less comfortable for the hosts. Kiwior blocked brilliantly to the ex -man Arsenal Eddie Nketihi with just a few meters outside, while Liverpool’s title party looked like he was coming back.

But four minutes before halftime, the hosts renewed the lead when Trossard hit a neat left leg after being found by Jurrien Timber.

The game had a smooth, but far from the frenetic pace: one that might be answered by both sides gave them the upcoming knots.

At an hour, Artete presented Bukayo Saka, but it was one of Palace’s replacements, Ismail Sarr, who carved a great chance when his cross found Justin Devenny.

But the midfielder was wrong and Rayawas managed to switch the ball.

Raya seemed unusually trembling all night, but the Arsenal keeper was available to prevent the head of Marc Guehi.
Sarr then saw the header bounced before Arthtea’s side moved when Gabriel Martinelli packed home with Timber’s Cross.

Dean Henderson kept it that when he brilliantly saved from Saka, which was a stop that ultimately proved to be vital.

Just a few moments later, the replacement of Mateta straightened the tie with a wonderful chopped finish after throwing from his goal from William Saliba.
