It is a year away from their 50th anniversary, when the Olympic team in the USA in 1976. The team did not win as many medals as a 1984 team, but that team did not have a competition of Russians or Cuban. Since President Jimmy Carter did not allow the US team to compete at the 1980 Olympics, both countries refused to go to the 1984 Olympic Games in Kanada.
‘Big’ John Tate There was a heavy category stopped by Cubin Olympic gold medal Theophilo Stevenson in the semifinals after releasing a couple of victories over the newsletters from Poland and western Germany. Michael ‘Jinx’ SpinksLeon’s brother, he won a gold medal in the middle category, stopping Rufat Rizicin Uzbekistan. He would continue to win the WBA Title in the heavyweight category in July 1981, beating WBA champion Eddie Mustafa Muhammad 38-5-1, improveing his record at 17-0. He would add WBC title, beating Dwight Muhammad Qawi and the title of IBF, beating Eddie Davis. He would give up all the titles to continue to beat the Larry heavyweight champion ‘The Easton Assassin’ Holmes, 48-0, twice in September 1985. Chuck ‘White Chocolate’ Walker He was a great weight of weight, losing to the eventual gold medal of Jerry Rybicki from Poland by a controversial decision. He would continue to publish 9-1-1 with 3 stops of stopping from meat, az. He was a professional TAP dancer who would continue to produce movies after retirement.
Clint ‘sheriff’ Jackson It was more weight, lost to the quarter of the finals from Venezuela Pedro Gamarro. Jackson was 102-14 in amateurs and 25-7 with 9 stops in Pro order from Nashville, tn. Failed to win the headlines of the USBA and Nabf.
‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard He was a gold medal of light. It had 145-5 with 75 stops in amateurs and 36-3-1 with 25 stops from Palmer Park, MD
He has won world titles in Welterweight, Light Middleweight, medium weight, super medium weight and lightweight heavyweight.
Howard Davis, Jr. He won a gold medal in a lightweight, beating Simion Cutov from Romania. Davis would win the Val Barker trophy as a top Olympian. He was 125-5 in amateurs and 36-6-1 with 14 stops from New York, NY. He lost in two attempts at the title of WBC on IBF and WBU titles.
Davey Lee Armstrong She was Pero, she lost to the quarter of the finals from Angel Herre from Cuba. He had 107-16 in amateurs and 24-3 with 14 stops from Puyallup, wa.
He won the NABF title, defeating Nick Furlan, 27-6-1.
Charles Mooney Whether Bantam is a weight and the only member has never turned to the professional, making an army career of 22 years, ending as a SGT First Class. He won a silver medal, losing to the young JUU North Korea final with a controversial decision. Was from DC
Leo Randolph He was a gold medal from flying, beating Ramon Dugulin from Cuba, and ended with a 160-7 amateur record. He won the title of WBA Super Bantamweight in May 1980, beating Ricardo Cardon, 21-4-1, from Colombia. He then lost the next fight, ending his career with 17-2 with 9 stops. He was from Spanaway, Wa.
Louis curtis Lost in the first round in a lightweight division of Henryk Even from Poland. He was 15-6-1 with 7 stops from DC that lost in four attempts at smaller titles.
