Boxing results: Gabriela Flontir retains titles with anyone -om over Marilyn Badillo; Jorge Perez achieves an upset victory with a divided decision against Charles Conwell

Gabriela Flontir (16-0, 8 ko) successfully defended her titles IBF, WBC and WBO World Flyewete, knocking out the previously undefeated Marilyn Badillo Amaya (19-1-1, 3 Kos) in the seventh round on Saturday night at Frondwave Arena in California.

Flonura, 23 years old, dropped Badilla in the seventh round with a hard blow bar. After Badillo returned, she decided not to continue. The fight was then officially stopped at 1:44 seventh Judge Rudy Barragan.

It was a one -sided fight with a 5’9 ″ Jugpaw Flonura using its height, reach and high rate of work to overcome a badillo hit in the light. The high work of Floripre seemed to be a real problem because she continued to throw away, and Badillo could not follow.

Conwell was upset

In the main support, Jorge Perez (33-4, 26 ko) withdrew great anxiety, beating the previously undefeated junior candidate for the middleweight weight of Charles Conwell (21-1, 16 Kos) by a decision on a split of 12 laps.

Perez’s punching volume and a combination of machine guns were a clean nightmare for Conwell tonight. Charles couldn’t match the exit of Perez, and the only thing he could do was Maul.

The work of the body is worth it

Lanky 6’0 ″ Perez struggled with a great fight, going to the body, weakening Conwell with these recordings. In response, Conwell spent much of the fight, pampering Perez, holding and throwing short blows from the inside. That tactic was suffocating his own power and playing in the hands of a better conditioned perez.

When there was a separation, Perez fired a combination of fast fire on Conwell’s head. Perez would mix into a double and triple hook with a body that may have impressed the judges.

Considering backwards, Conwell may have regretted that he decided so much because he did not take off his full power shots. The image of the Conwell, which is constantly holding, made the impression that she did not want to fight, and was afraid that Perez beat him when the action was on the outside.

Conwell was at the best row in the first four rounds, as it was when he landed on strong blows and still fresh. Perez took over his combination and aggression in the second half. He worked more than Conwell. The judge warned Charles that he had thrown rabbits several times in the fight. With the Mauling that Conwell worked, it was difficult for him not to land on the back of Perez’s head.

Final Statistics of the Breakthrough:

Perez: 164 out of 754 kicks for 22% connection
Conwell: 166 out of 701 for 24%

Perez responds

“My team stepped up after a circle,” we win. We win. “Thank God, we actually won,” Jorge Perez said after the fight. “My conditioning. We had a great camp. I feel that we are getting better and better with every fight. I work really, very tiring. I knew that if I won this fight, I could get a fight against a world title.

“Of course, if it is a sebastian fundara, it is welcome. If they are other champions, they are welcome,” Perez said when asked if he would be interested in the challenge of WBC and WBO of 154 LB champion Sebastian Flonura.
