Ruben Amorim believes that the amazing return of Manchester United against Lyon would reach the Europa League semifinals could be a spark to overcome the wealth of red devils under the Portuguese coach.
United scored three goals in the last seven minutes of additional time in an extraordinary competition at Old Trafford to progress to the last four, where he will meet Athletic Bilbao after the total victory of 7-6.
The Amorim team endured the tumultuous time of this season, but everything seemed to be forgotten when Harry Maguire found the net in the 121st minute of the game to bring United to a 5-4 victory and sent a homemade crowd to Raptura.
The hosts raced in a comfortable 2-0 at halftime via Manuel Hungary and Diogo Dalota, but Lyon hit goals of the second half of Corentina Tolissa and Nicolas Tagliafico.
Tolisso was then discharged shortly before the end of normal time, however, although the player down, visitors shocked their hosts with the goals of Rayan Cherki and Alexandre Lacazette in additional time.
United then prepared the daring return of his own kindness by Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo before Maguire’s header caused cheerful scenes in the stands.

This brought the end of what was a fascinating competition at Old Trafford. And Amorim quickly quoted another unforgettable evening at Annals of United History.
“I watched the documentary again ’99.
“The team was tired and you feel it during the game. In the end you think it’s over, but here (Old Trafford) is never over.
“I feel everything is possible here. You feel the environment.”
Amorim admitted that playing both the Premier League and the European Games took its toll to the physicality of its team.
While United manager also called for improvement on his part, he said that the victory for strengthening morals could have broad consequences, but emphasized that his fans would have to accept the European League priority.
“We have to improve a lot, but the character was there,” he told Amorim.
“The reflection of the coach is a league. You can be good at European Games, but your reflection as a team is a league and we’re under the performance.
“But you have to see the context. You can see that we lack a lot of characteristics on our team. When playing against European teams, you can feel that we can handle it better (physicality). We suffer a lot in the Premier League.
“This is a kind of moment that can change many things. Sometimes we just look at tactical aspects, physical aspects. But these types of moment can change a lot in players.
“We will have to be really focused on the Europa League and sometimes risk with children in the Premier League. And fans have to understand that.”
