EUBANK SR. At the incident of the eggs: “I didn’t teach you.”
Eubank Sr., a man who lived on the nobility of the box code, was appalled by Junior’s accumulation, where he broke the raw egg into Benn’s face:
“Junior, you break the egg on this guy’s face … I taught you? I didn’t teach you. Who taught you? Did Karen teach you that?”
He made it clear that such behavior was far below the standard he struggled to support:
“That’s shameful! I’ll stand in your corner? You must be angry! I would never be in your corner, you are a shame!”
The £ 100,000 sentence was not sufficient for paper over what Eubank SR. considered the betrayal of all boxing – and his name – he advocated.
On the promoters and the state of boxing: “Are we that now?”
EUBANK SR., one of the few who still defended the spirit of noble art, numb himself in today’s promotional scene:
“These promoters do not care for boxing and boxing standards and noble arts that it is boxing. No bad language, not to hit people with eggs and then actually promote it. Is that what we are now?
Is that what happened now? Are we what we are? Are we who we are? “
He wasn’t just disappointed – he was outraged by the way the current generation of straying was:
“Because if we are who we are, it will be your children.”
In the struggle that is sanctioned: “You all go the wrong way.”
EUBANK SR. has made it clear – does not believe that struggle should happen:
“147 against 160 is against the rules. When Kell Brook was made to fight GGG, it’s against the rules. That boy broke the socket. That happens.
The promoters are, for them, they just play, but it is a way of life for warriors. “
He called the entire system to leave the foundations that he and other greats fought for protection:
“It seems like I’m the only person who talks” keep a minute, guys. You all go the wrong way. “
We have to go the other way. This way, where you are leading you, is a pit, and I don’t do it. “
On his legacy and birth of success to Matchroom
EUBANK SR. has also reminded everything he brought to sports – something that today’s promoters have clearly forgot:

“Barry, I gave you this. You helped me and I helped you. Without me, I couldn’t give you a gift, but you conveyed it to one of your family members.
Where are you, Barry? Do you go with all that? “
Playing refusal: “I will not be a co -prosecutor.”
Asked if he would appear in the junior corner or appear at Tottenham Hotspur, Eubank Sr. was crystal clear:
“I will not be a companion of their nonsense, their circus.”
It proudly stands against a circus into which the modern box has turned into:
“Everything I did for boxing, I should evaluate that he is involved in a circus? That’s the wrong statement. It’s a shame.”
Final word: respect the legend
Chris Eubank Sr. It’s not just a former champion-on is a standard bearer of what boxing once meant and what else we should strive for.
A fighter who won the belts in the right way. A man who has respectfully treated sports and his fans. A legend that has struggled with five world titles a year, not three fights in three years.
His voice may now sound lonely in an era with obsessed dasi on social networks and promotions like a circus, but don’t make a mistake: Chris Eubank Sr. whose principles tower over the clutter of today’s boxing often becomes.
You may not agree with everything he says – but you cannot deny that he speaks from a place that some others remember more.
Boxing – a real box – needs more men like him.
