Arsenal has a “total respect” for real says Merino

Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino says he will have a “total respect” in Real Madrid on Wednesday, and their quarterfinals of the Champions League is still far away, despite the lead of 3-0 first legs.

Merino scored a fine goal in the Emirates last week, after Declan Rice hit two amazing free kicks to seemingly commanded by Mikel Arteta.

But Real won the Champions League 15 times and Merino does not exclude the amazing return.

Merino has been used as an emergency striker this season since Arsenal picked up Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.

Merino says he does not know if he will continue to be used in advance, but he was pleased with his goal in the first part.

“The finish was also good,” he said.

“Obviously, Declan’s two rockets have shaded a little mine, but I’ll always remember that.

“Declan was built for big games and reinforced when we needed it most.”
