Marcel Desailly believes that Paris Saint-Germain is now better equipped to win the Champions League than when in the front of three three Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar.
The trio played for PSG between 2021 and 2023, but failed to bring European success to Parc des princess with rumors with personal egs, as well as injuries to Neymar, especially, along the way.
Messi and Neymar left Paris in 2023, while Mbappe left 12 months later to join Real Madrid.
This made it possible for boss Luis Enrique to form a more cohesive side, and the results were impressive with the following challenge Tomorrow night in the house of conflict with Aston Villa in the Champions League quarterfinals.
The hopes in Paris are high that this could be a year when the club finally gets his hands in the trophy, and the former winner of the French World Cup, Desailly, believes they are better accommodated than ever.
Said Le Parisien: “They had Messi, Neymar, Mbappé, and this year there is more hope than the previous ones.

“This time we really believe that something could happen. Because they know how to play, because the team is complete in all positions. He (Luis Enrique) built his team towards his philosophy.
“The departure of Mbappéa did not mark the end of the cycle, but the beginning of something.”
The Champions League may be the main target, but PSG also hopes that it will go through the entire Ligue 1 season undefeated. So far, they have played 28 games, won 23 and draw five, with only six more.
Desailly added, “I am not surprised by their level, because from the moment they hired Luis Enrique, we knew that he would build a team around his philosophy.
“Luis Enrique is obsessed with possession. It took him two years to have players who can adapt to the way he wants his team to play: skilled players, with and without a ball, who understand and read the game well.
“I can hope that they will have an undefeated record in the league, as Arsenal with Invincibles (in 2003-04) did.”
