Oscar de la Hoya promoter suspects that Terrence Crawford will be able to beat the united champion of the super middleweight Canela Alvarez when he embarks on two divisions to cause him for his belts on September 13th. De La Hoya states that a “good little man” “never beat a good great man.”

Fighters who beat bigger guys:
Crawford (41-0, 31 ko) is difficult to achieve this feat, as it will basically embark on three weight classes after an unpleasant appearance in his debut in 154 last August against Israil Madrid. That fight was close enough to be a draw, but the judges gave it to Crawford and you can understand why. He was a-sides.
Crawford’s reluctance to fight 160 or 168 to stay busy and prove another reason why he won’t beat Canelo. Terrence apparently burned fighters in these weight classes and knows that it would be a bad idea to compete against one of these killers before receiving a great mega-pmu fight against Canel.
“I have been in this game for a long time and I like to say that I am a historian. There was never a good man who beat a good great man. That didn’t happen,” Oscar de la Hoya said Fix When asked about his thoughts about whether Terence Crawford could move two weight classes to beat Canela Alvarez in the super middleweight category.
“The exception is that Pacquiao beat me, but that situation was completely different. I was at the end of my career, I was a fighter, and Pacquiao came, and he beat me. But a good little man, who is Crawford, never beat a good great man who would be Canelo in the history of sports.”
Obviously, many fighters have moved more divisions to defeat larger fighters in the past. What makes Crawford’s task more problematic for him is his advanced age, inactivity and lack of electricity. Bud will be 38 in September; Looks. Moreover, Crawford only struggles once a year since 2020 and will leave from a 13-month discharge.
The fighter can get away with such inactivity when they are younger or struggling with a little opposition, but when they grow up and move up and fight against someone well, they lose. Maybe Crawford doesn’t care if he would beat him. He was advanced for one reason why he wanted to fight Alvarez so badly. That’s money.
Homemade Crawford from Nebraska cannot be made nowhere near the same type of dough in 154, and some guys from that weight would overthrow his chips. Guys like Bakhhhhhs Murtazaliev, Vergil Ortiz Jr., Sebastian Flonura and Serhii Bohachuk would remain Crawford. If he only fights once a year, he would never fight to fight half of these guys before he retired.
“If Crawford can do this, give this man a title”The greatest ever. ‘ This is probably a motivation for Crawford and his coach. “Look, if you can beat Canelo, you can go down as one of the historic best fighters on the planet.” That’s enough motivation for any fighter. I just don’t see it as a fighter.
“Canelo is a big blow.
De la Hoya exceeds the way Crawford would achieve if he beat 35-year-old Canel Alvarez 35-year-old. Terence would not be “the greatest ever” if he had won Canela because the Mexican star has been fading for the last three years and has not been fighting since 2022.
If Crawford beat this faded version of Canela, he would only beat a guy who would probably have lost several times to fight the best 168 pounds instead of avoiding them. Canelo transferred David Benavidez and David Morrel’s super middleweight weight, and now obviously avoids top 168 pound competitors.
Crawford’s victory against Alvarez would prove only what famous boxing fans already know: Canelo is over the hill. That is why he does not want to fight true killers in 168 and why he avoided Benavidez and Morrell while in the division.
