Anrich Nortje reveals why he owes his career to KKR


South African Pacer Anrich Nortje finally joined Kolkat Knight Riders (KKR) on the eve of the IPL 2025 season. Despite his fitness concern after missing the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 due to his back injury, Anrich Nortje is now ready to influence the KKRK in the upcoming IPL 2025.

This is the second Nortje -second stay from Kolkat Knight Riders, but it will be his first opportunity to turn to the field for the champion veterans in the upcoming season, starting on March 22. In 2019, the Proteas star was forced to withdraw from the tournament without playing a single game.

Now, the South African star wants to play in Eden Gardens, and also acknowledged the passionate fan base KKR, appreciating their support and looking forward to the field for veterans at the IPL 2025 opener against Royal Challengers Bengalur (RCB) on March 2nd.

Anrich Nortje ready to play in the beautiful garden Eden

The veterans champions shared a cordial video on their official handle X, where the franchise welcomed Nortje on the team. Nortje said in the video: “Kkr was the first to support me and it is great to be here again (in Calcutta). Really excited that things would go and what would be a place.”

Sharing his excitement to play in Eden gardens, Nortje said, “A beautiful place, a wonderful soil to be, really excited to be and look forward to that first game. Obviously, for now, the most important thing is just to prepare, but it’s nice to just take everything for now and hope you get upgraded to a successful season.”

Pacer signed himself, saying, “For all fans, we can’t wait to see you on earth. We can’t wait to see you at matches. Some people on the field with training. So thank you for your support, thank you for all the messages and we really look forward to seeing you.”

Anrich Nortje enjoys a great success in IPL

Meanwhile, Nortje, who is known for his raw pace and the ability to bother blows, has had a short but impressive IPL career since he debuted for Delhi Capitals 2020. South African Pacer played 46 games, taking 60 Wickekets with a solid foot of 17.5.

However, Proteas Pacer has returned to competitive cricket for the first time since December last year. His recent injuries stopped, including the injuries of the toes that excluded him from South Africa against Pakistan, they delayed his return, but he was eager to return to action.
