Borussia Dortmund Jamie Gittens wing could be available at a much lower price this summer if his team fails to secure a place in the Champions League, according to German media reports.
Gittens, England International International, had a mixed season. The campaign began vigorously, impressing early and attracting the attention of clubs, With Chelsea he thought he was eager.
At one point, Dortmund put a huge price of 100 million euros on him, hoping he would refuse interested courtesy. However, its shape has since decreased significantly, and its value can now be in question.
Although Dortmund reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League, they are currently sitting in 10th place in the Bundesliga, and the overall disappointing season took its toll on Gittens.
His performances were inconsistent, especially after the shooting of Nuri Sahin and the appointment of Nika Kovac for a new main coach. Gittens, once seen as a starb of a rise-was based on maintaining a form of an early season.
If Dortmund fails to secure the Champions League football, they could face a difficult decision because it will need to generate funds, which means that Liverpool’s goal could leave.

Although some reports suggested that Dortmund could require up to 80 million euros for a 20-year-old wing player, Florian Plettenberg Sky Germany hinted that the Gittenians could be available for a fraction and prices if the BVB failed to reach the Champions League place.
However, Plettenberg did not develop exactly what “really cheap”, leaving space for interpretation. Ultimately, Gittens’ value will greatly depend on his performances in the last weeks of the season.
If his decline continues, Dortmund will be forced to adapt his expectations, and the price of 80 million euros, let alone 100 million euros to which they initially hoped, may become unrealistic.
