Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) appointed Abhishek Sharma as captain for the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) season 2024-25. Abhishek, who led Punjab in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT), will also lead Punjab in Vijay Hazare. The squad includes IPL talents like Arshdeep Singh, Prabhsimran Singh, Harpreet Brar and Mayank Markande.

Punjab’s key players to watch out for

Punjab’s squad for the tournament includes an impressive mix of youth and experience. Arshdeep Singh, of India a left-arm pacer, he will play a key role with the ball. He is a fresh star in the T20 World Cup, making him a key weapon in the Punjab attack.

In the batting department, Prabhsimran Singh and Ramandeep Singh add strength at the top. Prabhsimran will play a key role for the team. Abhishek Sharma, as captain and opener, will lead the team from the front. Punjab have experienced players like Harpreet Brar and Mayank Markande in the bowling unit which has the potential to dominate the opposition team.
