Juventus strike late to win in the fifth game in a row

Juventus found the late goals of Khephren Thuram and Teun Koopmeiners to seal a 2-0 home win against Hellas Verona in Serie A-Petu in a row for the Thiago Motte side.

Juventus had 27 shots in the dominant exhibition, but struggled to find the way to visit goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipo, who produced a series of savings to refuse giants.

But Thuram found the way next to the heroic guard Verona in the 72nd minute, scoring a fresh shot from the penalty area, and replaced Koopmeiners, doubled the lead with a low firing from a close corner in the 90th minute.

Juventus is up to the fourth place in 52 points, six off Inter Milan leader and two above Lazio in the heel. Verona are 14, four points above the relegation zone.

Meanwhile in Spain, on Monday night, a league match between Villarreal and Espanyol was interrupted due to heavy rain.

The decision was made just a few moments before the start of Villarreal’s estio de la Ceramica with thousands of viewers already in the country.
